Glass Types & Tint Options

Glass Types & Tint Options

We manufacture replacement glass in clear and dark tint variants for most window positions. Side windows are available in both finishes, while rear slider panels typically come in dark tint to match factory installations. The dark tint provides privacy for bed cargo and reduces heat buildup inside the cap during summer months.

All glass is tempered through our controlled heating and rapid cooling process, making it four to five times stronger than standard annealed glass. If a panel does break under extreme impact, tempered glass shatters into small granular chunks rather than sharp shards, reducing injury risk. Clear glass panels maintain the same tempering process while offering full visibility for work caps where interior lighting is essential.

Measuring & Ordering the Correct Panel

Measuring & Ordering the Correct Panel

To order the correct replacement glass, you’ll need your Raider cap model number and the specific window position. The model number is stamped on a metal plate inside the cap, usually near the front bulkhead. Window positions are designated as driver side, passenger side, driver rear quarter, passenger rear quarter, or rear slider.

If you can’t locate your model number, measure the glass opening from inside the rubber seal—height first, then width. Our customer service team can match dimensions to the correct panel. For custom or modified caps, send us the measurements and we’ll cut glass to your exact specifications.

Installation & Seal Replacement

Installation & Seal Replacement

Each glass panel ships with a new rubber seal designed for the specific window position. The seal has a locking strip that holds the glass in place—no adhesive or sealant required for most installations. Start by removing the old seal completely and cleaning the cap frame with isopropyl alcohol to remove any residue.

Fit the new seal around the glass perimeter, working from one corner and pressing the channel firmly over the glass edge. Once the seal is fully seated on the glass, position the panel in the frame opening from the exterior. Use a plastic trim tool to tuck the seal’s outer lip into the frame channel, working your way around the perimeter. The locking strip inserts last, pushed into the seal’s center channel to compress the rubber and lock everything in place.

Perfect fit for my 2018 model
I broke the driver side glass on my cap last month and was worried I’d have to replace the entire unit. This panel dropped right in using the included seal. The tint matches the other windows perfectly and I can’t tell it’s a replacement piece. Installation took me about twenty minutes working alone.

Fast shipping on a custom size
I have a modified cap with oversized windows and needed custom glass. I sent my measurements on Monday and the glass arrived Friday. The fit was exact and the quality is just as good as the original glass. Very impressed with the custom cutting accuracy.

Rear slider works better than original
My rear slider had been sticking for years. I ordered the replacement glass with the new track kit and now it slides smoother than when the cap was new. The new rollers and tracks made all the difference. Should have replaced this years ago.

Saved hundreds versus body shop quote
The body shop wanted $400 to replace one side window. I ordered the glass myself for under $100 and installed it in my driveway. The instructions were clear and all the parts fit perfectly. No reason to pay shop rates for something this straightforward.

Excellent customer service on older model
I have a 2012 Raider cap and wasn’t sure they’d still make glass for it. Customer service looked up my model number and confirmed they had the panel in stock. It arrived in three days and matched my old glass exactly. Great to know they support older models.

Clear glass option was perfect solution
I use my cap for work and needed better visibility than the factory tint allowed. I replaced both rear quarter windows with clear glass and now I can see my entire bed from the cab. The clear glass is just as thick and strong as the tinted panels.

Common questions about Raider replacement glass

Locate your cap’s model number on the metal plate inside the front bulkhead area. Contact us with the model number and window position (driver side, passenger side, rear slider, etc.) and we’ll confirm the correct glass panel. If you can’t find the model plate, measure your glass opening height and width from inside the rubber seal and send us those dimensions along with photos of your cap.

Yes, every glass panel includes a new rubber seal cut specifically for that window position, plus the locking strip and any mounting clips needed for installation. Rear slider orders include new track inserts and nylon rollers. You don’t need to purchase seals separately unless you’re replacing seals on glass that isn’t broken.

We maintain glass inventory for discontinued models going back to 2010. Provide your model number or glass measurements and we’ll confirm availability. For caps older than 2010, we can manufacture custom glass to your exact specifications if we no longer stock your specific model’s panels.

Clear glass transmits at least 70% of visible light and provides full visibility, making it ideal for work caps where you need to see bed contents clearly. Dark tint glass transmits 25-35% of light, offers privacy for cargo, and reduces interior heat buildup. Both types use the same tempering process and meet identical safety standards.

Stock glass panels ship within one business day and typically arrive in three to five days depending on your location. Custom-cut glass orders ship within five business days. All glass ships fully insured with tracking and requires an adult signature at delivery due to the fragile nature of the product.

Most customers install their own glass using basic hand tools. The compression seal system doesn’t require adhesives or special equipment—just a plastic trim tool to tuck the seal into the frame channel. We include detailed instructions with every order. Rear sliders require more steps due to the track system but are still manageable for DIY installation. Professional installation typically takes a shop 30-45 minutes per panel.

Replacement glass carries a two-year warranty against manufacturing defects including improper tempering, dimensional errors outside our 1/16″ tolerance, and seal material failure. The warranty does not cover damage from improper installation, normal wear and tear, or impact damage. File warranty claims through our customer service department with photos of the defect and your original order number.
