Raider Fiberglass Truck Cap – Premium Fiberglass Caps
Our Raider fiberglass truck cap combines lightweight fiberglass construction with commercial-grade weatherproofing to protect your cargo year-round. Designed for full-size pickups, this cap features a low-profile aerodynamic shell that reduces drag while maintaining the rugged look your truck deserves.
The molded fiberglass shell resists dents, fading, and corrosion better than aluminum alternatives. We include premium weather stripping, dual-pane rear glass with a privacy tint, and a robust cam-lock rear door system. Each cap is painted to match OEM colors for seamless integration with your truck bed. The Raider fiberglass truck cap delivers the perfect balance of style, security, and durability for work crews and weekend adventurers alike.
- One-piece molded fiberglass shell for superior strength and weather resistance

- Reinforced mounting clamps fit standard 5.5′, 6.5′, and 8′ truck beds
Fiberglass Construction & Durability

The Raider fiberglass truck caps use a reinforced composite layup process that bonds multiple fiberglass sheets under heat and pressure. This creates a single-piece shell stronger than welded aluminum panels while weighing 30-40 pounds less than comparable steel designs.
Fiberglass naturally resists rust, corrosion, and UV degradation. The gel-coat finish maintains its gloss for years without clear-coat peeling common in painted metal caps. Small scratches can be wet-sanded and buffed at home, and major repairs require simple fiberglass patching kits available at any marine supply store.
Weatherproofing & Seal Technology

Triple-Layer Weather Sealing
Every Raider fiberglass truck cap ships with three independent weather barriers. The primary seal is a continuous EPDM rubber bulb gasket that compresses against the truck bed rail when you tighten the mounting clamps. A secondary foam strip fills micro-gaps along the cab-facing edge, and a third drip rail above the rear door channels water away from the latch mechanism.
The rear door uses automotive-grade weather stripping identical to materials found in SUV hatch seals. Two cam locks create eight points of compression around the door perimeter, ensuring consistent pressure that keeps rain, snow, and dust outside. The dual-pane rear glass includes a heated grid powered by your truck’s defroster circuit, preventing interior condensation during cold weather.
Bed Access & Interior Features

The full-swing rear door opens 180 degrees on stainless steel piano hinges rated for 50,000 cycles. Gas struts hold the door at any angle, letting you load cargo in tight parking spaces where a full swing isn’t possible. Interior pull handles on both sides make closing easy from inside the bed.
Inside, we install a battery-powered LED dome light with a magnetic door switch that activates automatically when you open the rear hatch. The light housing accepts standard AA batteries and provides 400 lumens of cool-white illumination across the entire eight-foot bed.

Common Questions About the Raider Fiberglass Cap
The Raider fiberglass truck caps are designed to fit full-size pickups from Ford, Chevrolet, GMC, Ram, Toyota, and Nissan. We manufacture caps for three standard bed lengths: 5.5-foot short bed, 6.5-foot standard bed, and 8-foot long bed.
To confirm fitment, you’ll need your truck’s year, make, model, and exact bed length. Measure from the inside of the cab bulkhead to the inside of the closed tailgate. If your measurement is within two inches of a standard size, our cap will fit. For non-standard bed configurations or custom builds, we offer special orders with a four-week production window.
The gel-coat finish on Raider fiberglass truck caps requires the same care as your truck’s painted panels. Wash the cap regularly with automotive soap and a soft microfiber mitt to remove dirt, road salt, and debris. Rinse thoroughly and dry with a clean towel to prevent water spots.
Apply automotive wax or polish every three to four months to protect the gel-coat and maintain the gloss. For minor scratches, use a fiberglass rubbing compound and buff by hand. Deep scratches may require wet-sanding with 2000-grit sandpaper followed by polishing compound. Avoid abrasive cleaners or automatic car washes with stiff brushes that can dull the finish over time.
The Raider fiberglass truck cap features a triple-layer weather sealing system designed to keep your cargo dry in rain, snow, and car washes. The primary EPDM rubber gasket compresses against the bed rails when you tighten the mounting clamps. A secondary foam strip seals the front edge against the cab, and a drip rail above the rear door channels water away from the latch.
The rear door uses automotive-grade weather stripping with eight compression points created by dual cam locks. Passive roof vents include labyrinth baffles that allow air circulation while blocking water entry. While no truck cap is hermetically sealed—some moisture may enter during extreme weather or pressure washing—the Raider cap provides excellent protection for tools, equipment, and cargo under normal driving and storage conditions.
The standard Raider fiberglass truck cap roof can support lightweight items like kayaks or cargo boxes when distributed properly, but we don’t recommend drilling into the fiberglass shell for permanent rack installation. The single-piece molded construction doesn’t include internal reinforcement for heavy roof loads.
If you need to carry ladders, lumber, or heavy equipment on top of your cap, consider our Raider Commercial-Grade Cap model. That version includes reinforced roof supports and pre-drilled mounting points rated for aftermarket ladder racks. For the standard fiberglass cap, use bed-rail-mounted racks that don’t require drilling into the cap itself.
Every Raider fiberglass truck cap includes a limited lifetime warranty covering the fiberglass shell against cracking, delamination, and structural failure under normal use. Hardware components including hinges, locks, and mounting clamps carry a three-year warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.
The gel-coat finish is warranted against excessive fading, chalking, or peeling for five years from the date of purchase. Weather stripping and rubber gaskets are considered wear items and carry a one-year warranty. The warranty is non-transferable and applies only to the original purchaser. Damage from accidents, improper installation, or modifications voids warranty coverage.
The Raider fiberglass truck cap weighs between 120 and 180 pounds depending on bed size. A 5.5-foot short-bed cap weighs approximately 120 pounds, a 6.5-foot standard-bed cap weighs about 145 pounds, and an 8-foot long-bed cap weighs around 180 pounds.
Fiberglass construction makes these caps 30-40 pounds lighter than comparable aluminum designs while maintaining superior strength and rigidity. Two adults can lift and position the cap onto truck bed rails without mechanical assistance, though we recommend three people for long-bed models to prevent stress on the fiberglass during handling.
While the Raider fiberglass truck cap is designed for semi-permanent installation, you can remove it when necessary to haul tall cargo like furniture or appliances. The mounting clamps loosen with a 10mm socket wrench, and the entire cap lifts straight up off the bed rails once all clamps are released.
We recommend having two or three people assist with removal to prevent dropping or damaging the cap. Once removed, store the cap on padded sawhorses or a carpeted garage floor to protect the gel-coat finish. Reinstallation takes about 30 minutes—you’ll need to re-center the cap and torque the mounting clamps to 15 foot-pounds. For frequent removal, consider our bolt-on aluminum cap models designed for easier seasonal installation.
